Hello SITStahs, thanks for stopping by to virtually meet me! I must say I have anxiously been waiting for my featured blogger day for like, EVER. Okay not forever, it’s been more like 9 months. But it’s not like I was counting or anything. This is so exciting! For those of you who do not know what SITS is, it’s an awesome community of thousands of women bloggers who support one another through education, comments and advice. I highly suggest you check them out. As these awesome ladies say, “the secret to success is support!”
My name is Eve. I’m a 29 year-old wife, mom, marketer, foodie and iced coffee junky living in the Boston suburbs. I’m originally from Washington State (shout out to my west coast peeps!) but have been on the east coast since 2005.

Beautiful Spit Up is where I share bits of my hectic life, funny stories that often involve poop or other equally yucky substance, and photos of the amazing people who make up my weird little world. If you are a parent, you’ll relate to the madness, the joy and the perpetual sleep deprivation. If you like a good laugh, well you’ll get that here too.
This blog, along with my food blog, Mama’s Hungry, are creative outlets and the best way I’ve found to connect with other moms like myself. You know, the moms who have no idea what they’re doing. Yeah, those are my girls, yo.
I started Beautiful Spit Up as a way to chronicle my feelings and memories about being a new mom, but it’s quickly evolved into a life journal and my own virtual form of therapy that I must say is pretty awesome. (Check out the vlog I did on my blog name. It’s awkward and hilarious at the same time.)
Here I write about my almost 2-year-old son, to whom I refer as Handsome. It’s like his ongoing baby book and photo album all in one. I write for him as much as I write for me, you know?
Someone else you might see around here is my husband, the man who dreams of cocktail wieners and thinks our toddler ate his twin.

So with introductions out of the way, here I give you five things about me that will help you see why I need this form of therapy blogging:
- My journey to motherhood wasn’t easy. After developing PUPPP and having mad complications, I spent the last 8 weeks of my pregnancy on bed-rest in the hospital. No that’s not a typo. I was on lockdown for over 2 months. And then? My c-section got infected and I spent another week back in the clink. It was hard time, peeps.
- My whole family lives on the west coast. This is both good and bad. Good because um hello, my family is insane. But it’s also bad because um hello, I am too and we crazies need to stick together. Needless to say, I miss my family oodles and oodles.
- I am obsessed with shoes and finding ones that fit my oddly small, but wide feet. I’m convinced that the perfect pair is out there for me, I just need to find it. Can you hear them calling to me in the wind like I can?
- I’m not as crafty as I think, but I can hop on Pinterest, pin a bunch of stuff and voila: I’m Crafty McCraftPants!
- I’m a mom. I’ve had my couches colored on, my bed pooped in, and my face peed on. I’m pretty sure I’ve earned this blog.
Now, if I haven’t grossed you out or freaked you out, please consider subscribing to my RSS feed or by e-mail. And feel free to stalk me on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
Whether you’re a regular reader or a new visitor thinking of subscribing, I thank you for taking part in my SITS Day and for visiting my nook. (That’s what she said.)
Happy Monday, peeps!
Virtural hugs,
