Time is a funny thing. Isn’t it? We want more of it, need more of it, crave more of it.
But what do we do with it when we’ve got it?
Talk on the phone? Read a trashy magazine? Actually finish a cup of coffee while it’s still hot? Watch Keeping up with the Kardashians? Pay $2.99 for apps we’ll never play with again after that first time? Ok, that last one is probably just me. You get the picture. We basically do whatever we have a few minutes for and makes us smile.
For me, I like to spend the very teeny tiny (did I mention small?) amout of “free” time I have blogging. Or bathing, check out the post about that time I took a shower.
I use the notes feature in my iPhone to keep track of cute or funny things my son does or random thoughts I have so I can blog about them later. Sometimes months later, but whatever.
I also use my iPhone’s calendar to keep track of virtual blogging events, like the SITSGirls Comment Cocktail Hour. Don’t laugh at me, I have to do this kind of wacky stuff, or I may just fall asleep and miss the whole hour!

Let’s just say I have more than 10 pages of ideas in my iPhone note pad and haven’t even started blogging about them all. I think I’ve crossed off three since I started doing it. I’m working on writing more. I really am.
I’m going to try.
Today.
You doubt me? Yeah you do.
I can tell.
No, really, I’m going to try to blog more. IfIcanfindthetime.
Speaking of time….answer this question for me, will ya?
I’m curious about how much time people spend on their blogs. I don’t mean just the writing part, because that can vary a lot. I’m talking about the total time you spend on your blog. You know, the editing, designing, downloading plugins, updating, analyzing stats, ect.
Do you have a schedule? If so, do you stick to it? I’m wondering if I should create a schedule for myself so that I can improve my blog. I really want to work on a redesign, but I don’t want to start it if I’m just going to put it off week after week. I know myself and when it comes to non-work and non-baby to-dos I usually put it off for later. I guess I pretty much answered my own question.
Schedule it is! Come back on Friday to see my new blogging/design schedule… or so you can laugh at me for not even taking the time to make the schedule in the first place.
Happy Blogging,

Ok, so I’ll be back Friday to laugh . . . I’m kidding! So, ya just wrote a post about finding time to write a post . . . Ok, ok, I’ll stop. Ya know, if we weren’t paying for godaddy us busy moms would probably say Screw it! And just spend our free time reading blogs and drinking coffee with our feet up.
So it’s true that having a blog you pay for will keep you committed, somewhat.
I wish I could keep my butt on a schedule, unfortunately I’m really good at forgetting to schedule stuff.
Have u tried BlogPress? It’s good for writing posts on the iPhone but I suggest saving the post and publishing from within WP. Publishing via BlogPress gets wonky.
Ok, now that I’m done being “funny” and random, don’t ask why I did it in the first place, here’s the deal:
Eve? Make time to blog. You’ve always got great, relatable posts to share. I love visiting you. Stop dragging your arse and make that schedule.

I spend a lot of time on my blog and reading/commenting other blogs. I have found that first thing in the morning and late at night are the best for me. During the day I have other stuff to do. I do use my iPhone to manage my blog and approve comments and talk to people on Twitter. This helps me have some freedom from my laptop.
To find some balance, I usually step away from the blogosphere on the weekends. I try not to post anything new or open my reader.

Oh gosh, I have lots of drafts, but need the time to finish them… but with 4 children it seems impossible with only so much time in a day, unless I want to forego sleep..which I have. I really need to make a good schedule, but of course, when do I have the time? Tonight I’m doing comment hour early as I have to take my son to scouts since hubby is out of town. I guess I’ll have to take a break.

My wife spends a lot of time on her blogs and reading fellow Mommy Bloggers. I even know some of the names now, she loves it!
