Today is a special day. My niece, Elena turns the big F-I-V-E today! A special day indeed.
Isn’t she just the cutest? This was taken at an amusement park over the summer.
Remember that post where I told you my sister moved? Well despite my complaints, she took my pretty little niece and handsome little nephew with her. Can you believe her nerve?
On Sunday, two of my sisters threw a party for Elena and my eldest nephew, Pedro. Pedro turns 17 on Thursday 12/8 so they combined the parties. Pedro is a real sweetheart like that. He’s the only 16 year old I know that would give up a blowout party with his friends to spend the day with his grandparents and baby cousins. Aren’t they the most adorable kids ever? I think so!
This year I was the only aunt not present for her birthday party. I was sad. So was Handsome. He loves his pretty cousin. Just look at them lounging on the couch watching Spy Kids…they were totally focused.
And then when I asked her to smile for the photo…

This adorable little lady is not only wicked cute, but also fricken hilarious. She does the craziest things, I can’t even make this stuff up. Here are just a few of the wild things this kiddo has said…
In a disucssion about prayer with her grandmother (my mom):
“I gotta go, but I’ll be back. I’m gonna go talk to Jesus now.”
Conversation with her mom (my sister):
“Elena eat your breakfast”
Elena: “Mom I can’t because my hands are tired.”
“What?”
Elena: “Yeah, mom I’m old. I’m gonna be 5 so now I’m always tired. That’s what happens when you get old!”
Smart kid, huh? Man, she cracks me up!
Before she left, she gave me a present to remember her by. This little piggy sits on my desk at work and reminds me that there’s a cute little girl out there who loves her favorite aunt and little cousin.

Aww you were the only one that was missing! We miss you! Thank you for mentioning my baby too!! Pedro is the type all his own that prefers to spend time with grandma and grandpa than going out with his friends! Im very proud of him. OMG he is turning 17 tomorrow! Can you beleive that? Well sista I just want to say that WE all love you and miss you and hope to see you soon! Give William a big hug and a kiss for me!!
