Peanut Butter Pie Frozen Yogurt

by Eve on January 13, 2012

I’m sure you’ll all be wicked sad to hear this, er read this, but it must be done. Today will be the final edition of Foodie Friday here at Beautiful Spit Up. Wait, before you get all tearyeyed, Foodie Friday will resume again in February when I launch the super new Mama’s Hungry! Stay tuned to that announcement and be sure to bring your appetite.

In addition to allowing me to express my deep, deep love of all things edible, the new blog will help keep my cooking/eating habits in check. It will essentially force me to cook and eat healthier. Not to say that I eat super unhealthy food, because I don’t. But I could definitely stand to cut back on the calories and fat in my diet.

That being said, I’ve been on the lookout for a delish alternative to ice cream, the arch nemesis of my thighs.

I’ve tried about 4 different brands of frozen yogurt in the past 3 weeks and I’ll tell you, some are definitely better than others. Some literally taste like frozen yogurt. That’s not what we want, right? We want something that tricks our taste buds into thinking we’re eating real, make-your-ass-bigger ice cream. Am I right? You know I am.

Enter: Turkey Hill Peanut Butter Pie Frozen Yogurt

Have you tired this? Let me tell you, it’s FREAKING awesome. I highly recommend you try it ASAP if you’re on the hunt for a frozen yogurt that doesn’t taste like well, frozen yogurt.

I’ll also let you in on a little secret. That orange bowl there is actually one of Handsome’s little bowls. I read somewhere that if you use smaller plates and bowls, you trick your eyes into thinking the portion is actually bigger than it is. I measured exactly 1/2 cup of the Turkey Hill Peanut Butter Pie Frozen Yogurt into the bowl, wanting to stick to the 160 calories noted on the container. And you know what? It was just the right amount to curb my craving for something sweet after dinner. I think I actually heard my thighs say ‘thank you.’

That’s all, folks! Join me again next week for another installment of Foodie Friday!

That sounds delish! I love ice cream (or a good frozen yogurt, whichever the case may be). I do the same thing when dishing it out – I always eat my ice cream out of a coffee mug. :)

A coffee mug would work too! Except in my house the coffee mugs are a tad too big and would probably defeat the purpose of the smaller bowl. (mama loves her coffee!)

This looks soooo good!!! I am “trying” to do low carb so I do not know if I will be trying this soon, but on one of my cheat days I will head to the store. On another note…that low carb ice cream they have is pretty good too.

Pretty sure we don’t have that brand in Canada, sadly. Looks delish.
I like homemade ice cream best. And the process to make it discourages from eating it everyday. Win all around!

Excited to see your new blog.

Homemade is good, but still super fattening and takes waaaay too long to make!
