Valentine’s Day is For Nerds

To My Husband 

We tried on each others glasses on our very first date
I knew right then and there that you would be my mate

You loved my cooking, and that meant a lot
Because if you said you didn’t, you may have gotten shot

I liked you immediately because you made me laugh
It also really helped that you didn’t sport a stained mustache

You accept me for who I am and also who I’m not
You even care for me when I’m sick, wiping away my yucky snot

I’m there for you and you for me
And it started well before you got down on that knee

They say that Valentine’s Day is only for the birds
But with email, texts and blogging, yo
I’d say it’s for the nerds
