I know I said I’d be blogging from the road, but I realize now that was an ambitious thing to say. RoadTripping across the country with a toddler is straight up hard work, you guys.
Each night we’ve stopped I’ve been so freaking exhausted, I can barely eat dinner before passing out. Traveling for this long is mentally, physically, and psychologically draining.
This morning is the first day I’ve actually had the strength to bust out iPad and write. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that we’re on the last leg of this Godforsaken trip. We should arrive in Washington by tonight and I couldn’t be any more anxious to get there. If I could muster up the energy, I’d jump up and down. I’m doing it on the inside along with a few summersaults, trust me.
I have loads of stories to share with you, but they’re going to have to wait until I’ve had a couple of normal night’s sleep. And a martini. Or six. Or nine.
For now, I’ll leave you with some pics from the road that you may have already seen on Instagram. If you’ve already seen them, please just skip down and leave me an encouraging comment. God knows I need it.

Hey – you’re getting there safe, and that’s the important thing (sane is secondary, though it looks like you’re, mostly, keeping your sanity).
Can’t wait to hear the full recap when you’re ready to write it up.
